CEO stands for Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities. Yes, we teach the students about entrepreneurship and the business world, but it’s so much more!

We focus on soft skills and building confidence. Public speaking is uncomfortable for so many people but the more you practice it, the more confidence you have and the better you get.

One task CEO students are assigned is to reach out to every speaker we have prior to our visit and gather information so they are prepared to give an introduction.

CICEO student @emily_atten introduced our speaker @grace_clark2 who serves as the Manager of the Dewitt County Farm Bureau.

Grace shared great advice on interview skills, multitasking, communication, working with a board and shared information on the importance and work the Farm Bureau does.

Grace is one of the CICEO mentors and it was so great to get to know her better! We learned alot about another career opportunity within an amazing organization such as the Farm Bureau.

One piece of advice Grace offered that she applied as she took on her role as manager 3 years ago that is so applicable to the entrepreneur journey…”don’t think you can turn the ship in 1 day.” The CEO students are learning and growing more each day. As they prepare to launch their group business they will need to apply this principle.

Thank Grace for your dedication and commitment to the CICEO program!
